Institutional Overview

Welcome to Kapan Campus
Before 2069 B.S. (2012 A.D.), Budhanilkantha Municipality lacked a public institution for higher education. As a result, many students were compelled to pursue further studies in private colleges after completing Grade 12, often facing financial constraints and limited accessibility.
Recognizing this need, local residents of the Kapan area—along with educators, academicians, and social leaders – collectively established Kapan Multiple Campus (KMC) as a community-driven initiative. The campus began its academic journey under the affiliation of Tribhuvan University, initially offering B.Ed. and BBS programs.
From 2082 B.S., the institution has been formally restructured as Kapan Campus, a constituent campus of Bagmati University. This transition represents a major milestone in its institutional evolution, strengthening academic governance, enhancing quality assurance, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
Today, Kapan Campus provides a multicultural, inclusive, and co-educational academic environment, where diversity is valued and students are nurtured to become responsible, competent, and socially conscious individuals. The campus remains committed to building a strong legacy of academic excellence while preparing graduates for meaningful contributions at both national and global levels.

Development History
Prior to 2069 B.S., Budhanilkantha Municipality lacked a public institution for higher education, requiring many students to depend on private colleges after completing Grade 12. In response, community members of the Kapan area – along with educators, intellectuals, and local leaders – initiated the establishment of Kapan Multiple Campus. The campus began its academic journey under the affiliation of Tribhuvan University, offering B.Ed. and BBS programs. Financial and logistical resources were mobilized through the collective support of life members and community stakeholders.
In its early phase, the campus operated from Baluddwar Secondary School with fewer than 250 students. In 2073 B.S., it relocated to a rented facility at Shivadhara Chowk, Kapan. Through the continued dedication of the Campus Management Committee, Budhanilkantha Municipality, Bagmati Province, and community partners, the campus has now been established in its own permanent academic complex at Aakasedhara, near the Handball Ground, Kapan.
From Paush 2082 B.S., the institution has formally transitioned into Kapan Campus, a constituent campus of Bagmati University, marking a significant milestone in its institutional development. This transition has strengthened academic governance, enhanced quality assurance, and expanded opportunities for academic growth.
At present, Kapan Campus operates as a constituent campus of Bagmati University, offering programs such as Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).
Since its establishment, Kapan Campus remains committed to delivering accessible, affordable, and quality higher education through qualified faculty, student-centered learning environments, and a peaceful academic setting.
