Welcome to KMC
Before 9 years (2069 B.S), there was not any community based institution of higher education in Budhanilkantha Municipality of Kathmandu. Prior to the establishment of Kapan Multiple Campus (KMC) , most of the students of this municipality had to go to private colleges for further studies after completing grade 12. The local people of Kapan area, political leaders, academicians and well-wishers took the initiative for the establishment of a community based multiple campuses. As a result, KMC got affiliation from the Tribhuwan University for running educational programs: B.Ed. and BBS. KMC stands for the multifarious, multicultural and diversified platform with co-education system where the student is taken as the best social entity negating any kinds of discrimination. KMC has been the center of attraction and attention within the very short period of its establishment with the generic sense of oneness and oneness so as to be the best academic destination to each and all every individual throughout the nation and so far. The campus solely dreams to build the legacy of academic pursuit and be the wonderland for everyone dreaming for the blooming future.
Way Forward
The campus is effortful to maintain its historical credibility and quality of education in future too by performing following development initiations;
- Program extension (launching technical and non-technical programs and professional courses at the Bachelor’s and masters’ level such as BCA, BBA, BSW, MBS, M.Ed., and so on.)
- Obtaining autonomy in designing curriculum, conducting examinations and evaluating students’ performance).
- Infrastructure development and maintaining learning resources (Construction of two stories, seminar hall, computer laboratory, library, hostel and purchasing furniture’s).
- Capacity enhancement of academic departments (supporting faculty members, preparation of academic plans, students profile, students’ progress report, analyzing the students’ performance).
- Improving teaching and learning Methods (arrangement of teachers’ training, engaging faculties and students in research activities, providing career counseling classes to the students, adopting ICT aids).
- Creating national and international linkage for enhancing the students’ exposure, faculty professional development).
- Maintaining relation with the society and partners.
Development History
Before 9 years (2069 B.S.), there was not any community based institution of higher education in Budhanilkantha municipality of Kathmandu. Prior to the establishment of KMC, most of the students of this municipality had to go to private colleges for further studies after completing grade 12. The local people of Kapan area, intellectuals, political leaders and academicians took initiative for the establishment of a community based multiple campuses. As a result, KMC got affiliation from the TU for running educational programs; B.Ed. and BBS. Financial and other resources required for the establishment of the campus were raised from the support of life-members of KMC. Initially, KMC was run at Baluddwar Secondary School and there were less than 250 students. In 2073 B.S., it was shifted to the rented building at Shivadhara Chowk Kapan. Frequent efforts and dedication of the Campus Management Committee members, political leaders, Bagmati province Budhanilkantha municipality, it has recently been shifted in its’ own building at Aakasedhara, nearby handball ground, Kapan.
At present, KMC has present become one of the largest community based campuses of Budhanilkantha municipality and there are more than 500 students, studying in the campus. Since its establishment, KMC has prepared thousands of students, who are serving within the country and abroad. It has been a pioneering community based campus of Nepal. It is located in a peaceful area in the center of Budhanilkantha municipality of Kathmandu. The campus is an autonomous and not for profit making institution established solely for the purpose of providing higher education. It is affiliated with TU of Nepal. Due to quality education, spacious physical infrastructure, affordable cost, highly qualified dedicated faculty member, convenient location of Budhanilkantha municipality, KMC has been the center of excellence in higher education.
